Today is officially my last day working for PIER Systems, Inc. It’s been a great experience, and working for a start-up I always knew this was a risk.
Today I got the call that my employment was being terminated, and while I’m saddened and nervous, I’m not surprised.
Goodbye PIER, best of luck to you all who remain, you’re a fantastic team and I will miss you.
You will be greatly missed. Your ability to engage so directly with each client to discern their needs, then to help them in a way that empowered them is a rare gift.
You manage to meld a high level of technical expertise with gentleness, humility and appreciation of the capabilities of the person that you are helping.
You make people better, both in their ability to fulfill their responsibilities and in their confidence and clarity of purpose.
As hard as it is to see you go, I know that your greatest accomplishments are ahead! I only regret that another organization will enjoy them!
what’s next? Back to Bellingham???
Not likely, at least any time soon. Kari’s got a great shot at teaching down here, so we’ll stick it out and get her some experience before moving again. Besides, this is a better place to be homeless… lots of sunshine.
